As children grow up, their minds develop as per their perception of their surroundings and their everyday experiences. During this time they should receive enough of love, care and emotional support from parents and caregivers. All these, as a whole, shape a child’s self esteem, sense of emotional security, social skill and personality.
Children develop negative emotions if they are constantly exposed to dysfunctional and stressful family environment, disturbed parents, distressed caregivers and also peer bullying. These lead to crises such as separation anxiety, school refusal, behavioural problem, exam anxiety, depression etc. But being too small they are yet to understand how to deal with these negative emotions. Also children could have some organic anomaly since birth, which might need professional attention for a brighter future.
Professional counselling helps to clear the haze of uncertainty and helps children to develop better.
