Ms. Saima Khatoon is a Consultant Psychologist and Counsellor with an avid interest in human behaviour that is evident in the unique way each individual responds to stimuli or experiences. She has completed her schooling from Pratt Memorial School and then completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Applied Psychology from Amity University, Kolkata. She is determined to pursue further and complete her Phd in Clinical Psychology.
While pursuing her Masters Programme, Saima simultaneously earned a number of internship experiences. At the Antara Psychiatric Hospital, she gained knowledge of working with clients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Amnesia, Substance Abuse, and Schizophrenia.
During her internship in Counselling and Consultation from Wings Within Bangalore, she gained experience in counselling clients with myriad lifestyle disorders that stem from today’s stressful lifestyle.
Saima is also a certified family therapist, which remains her special area of interest.
Additionally, she is trained in Behavioural Therapy and Forensic Psychology.
As a Counsellor and Psychologist, empathy is Saima’s forte. She has volunteered at Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity Homes and Rotary club, Mulvany Homes, Army Salvation Home, and AIDS Shelter.
Gentle soul Saima is an empathic listener, and a dedicated and devoted helper. Her dream is to use her knowledge and acquired skills to destigmatize mental health and bring therapy into the mainstream of health practices in India.
